The Woolpack Inn Dining out in The Cotswold Slad Stroud
The Woolpack Inn is a traditional English pub dating from the 17th Century, set on the side of the beautiful Slad Valley. Famous nationally for its association with Laurie Lee and ‘Cider With Rosie’
It is famous more locally for it’s great beer, food and welcoming atmosphere. Beers from local breweries are found here, such as Uley Brewery, Stroud Brewery and occasionally the legendary Spingo from the Blue Anchor in Cornwall puts in an appearance.
The menu varies from pub favourites such as faggots and mash to more elaborate dishes for the more ‘foodie’ types. One thing all the dishes have in common, and that is that they are locally sourced, freshly prepared and then cooked to perfection by Chef Quentin Ralph. The menu changes daily, as Quentin would rather sell out of a dish rather than resort to freezing and microwaving like so many other places do.
