A 17th century landmark on Burford's famous High Street, it is now, if you believe what you read and hear, one of the most highly regarded small hotels in the lovely Cotswolds, one of Britain's most outstandingly beautiful areas. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, really good bedrooms and bathrooms and the best breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon teas.
Bedrooms
There are just eight bedrooms, all decorated individually with carefully chosen traditional Farrow & Ball paints. Some have queen or king size beds, some overlook the garden and some the evocative high street but all have
antique furniture, pictures and porcelain
great beds with Witney blankets, the best pillows and fine linen
gleaming bathrooms with huge tubs and power showers
up to date magazines and readable books
and lots of thoughtful extras not often found in hotels
satellite television
wireless broadband internet access in all rooms
The House
Luxury and comfort is of course not confined to the bedrooms, downstairs guests will find two intimate sitting rooms. There is a log fire and honour bar in one, whilst the garden room is bright and has doors out to the courtyard garden.
These rooms feature huge squashy George Smith sofas and are devoted to our resident guests. They simply add to the space available for relaxation, reading, reflecting, falling asleep or having an early evening glass of wine or a late evening nightcap.
